Subject: Mobile client
At the University of Oslo, Norway we're looking to develop a mobile phone application which should be able to do the following:
We've successfully set up the mapmyglobe app at http://prosjekter.intermedia.uio.no/mapmyglobe/index.php and it looks promising as a starting point for what we want to do.
A few questions:
# Google has a map client that enables locating the phone using triangulation (http://www.google.com/gmm). Could this be fairly easily implemented in mapmyglobe?
# We couldn't make the iphone page work. Is there other pages for other phones? How can a mobile phone best browse the cms content?
If we can make use mapmyglobe as a platform for this app, we would be happy to contribute code and ideas to it's development!
- User is automatically located on a map on his mobile phone
- User can create/edit messages (POIs with content), both on phone and from a computer
- User can submit a message to a wiki/cms
- User can browse all Points of Interest
